Incident Report - Combined capacity slots not increasing #280922-01

Introduction

On 20th Sept. 2022 we deployed an additional feature: "If a sub-product of a combi-product is having combined capacity and that capacity is linked with a 3rd party system, then prioticket should auto populate the inventory with all the timeslots provided by the third party system.", which caused a particular type of capacity not being updated correctly.

Prioticket offers three types of capacity; own capacity, shared capacity and combined capacity. Products can be configured to any of the above three types.

In case of combined capacity, where the total available slots are determined by the result of two capacities (shared capacity and own capacity), the lowest value is picked. For example, a product can have a shared capacity with many other products, however it has its own individual capacity (limit) as well.

In future correspondence this incident will be referred to as #280922-01 (Combined capacity slots not increasing).

We hope this information is useful to you. If you have any questions regarding this incident, please consult your contact person directly.

Cause of the issue:
In case of combined capacity, both shared capacity and own capacity should be decreased. However, after deployment we found that only the own capacity was decreasing. This caused the potential for the shared capacity to be overbooked.
